Concrete strength with changing flyash percentage

Fly Ash is an inorganic material which is considered as the by-product that remains after the coal combustion. Using fly ash in concrete production is both an environment-friendly as well as a sustainable method of using the waste. However, it is important to define what percentage of fly ash provides maximum strength to the concrete and how its changing proportions can impact the concrete strength. With the increased usage of Green Concrete or Geopolymer Concrete, this topic has also become active in the research fields. In this PhD Thesis service provided to our client from Boston, we analysed and interpreted the data and values of fly ash which were used in the concrete mixture at the place of cement and the conclusion derived from this experiment.

The Research Targeted On The Following Properties Of Concrete

  • Physical

The physical aspect of concrete in terms of strength remained the focus of this study conducted. As it is important to have strong concrete with good quality for construction purposes which can provide maximum sustainability.

  • Mechanical

By putting the concrete through realistic conditions, the effects of fly ash on the mechanical aspects were analysed. Also, the consequences of the different proportions of fly ash on the corrosion of reinforcement were also evaluated.

  • Flexibility

It was checked which of the mixture provided maximum flexibility to be used for construction in different environments and for different purposes as well.

How Did The Research Proceed?

  • check A laboratory study was conducted to determine the optimum use of fly ash in the concrete mixture wherein different mixtures were prepared with a change in the ratio of fly ash. After which the mextures were moist cured.
  • check Then these different concrete mixtures were tested for strength, corrosion impact and the flexibility of using them for different construction purposes.
  • check After this the data was collected and analysed, through which the result was calculated and an interpretation report was prepared.
  • check Through this it was concluded that fly ash only up to 40-42% provided the maximum benefits after which the strength of the concrete started to reduce again.
